can I have your attention please

Emily has been abducted by Monster Mommy. I repeat: Monster Mommy is on the loose.

She is not playing with her children, not unpacking her messy house, smelling like a hairy factory worker and being generally mean to any person under three feet tall. She cannot be bothered with things like tying shoes or showing compassion. If anyone wants to ride their bike or have a popsicle, it is just too bad. There will be no fun allowed. She is too busy being a monster.

Pray for her swift and safe return.

It’s not looking good.

Yikes! Those poor little victims…I’m praying for the sweet mommy’s safe and swift return!

  2. Laurel says:

The monster was at my house yesterday…sorry to hear she’s now at yours.

  3. Tonja says:

Most monsters can be tamed with a little dark chocolate and a diet coke. Beware…you will not get nearly as much work out of tamed monster as one that is really fired up!

  4. Michelle says:

oh you poor dear! The “mean mom monster” has been at my house the past couple of days.

  5. Kristi says:

I think the monster must have been at my house yesterday too! I will tell you why the monster got loose at my house yesterday in a post on my blog soon! Everyone thinks it’s a very funny story…except me! It involves cards from Chik-fil-a, 3rd brake light in my car, and ladybugs!! LOL
Thankfully, I had chocolate, and a wonderful “summer” tomatoe sandwich, and the monster finally left! :-)
I pray the monster will go away for you soon too! LOL….grab a fudge round! :-)

  6. Kristi says:

oops! I don’t think tomato has an “e” on the end of it!!

  7. Joanie says:

Oh Thank the Lord! I was beginning to think my house was the only one in which Monster Mommy visits!

I’m gonna have to look for you at “She Speaks,” as we just have to talk!

  8. Wilson Ramblings says:

I’d love to meet the mommy monster! Do you need a latte?

  9. Sissy says:

Maybe Monster Mommy needs a night out away from the new house. Give me a call if you need some downtime, Em!

  10. Stephanie says:

Ah… just making the rounds. I agree with the above, though. Usually nothing a night out, a diet coke, or some chocolate won’t fix. For heaven’s sake, though, get those kids to bed early and turn the DVR on!!!

  11. megs says:

I hate when that mean mommy monster rares her ugly head! Unfortunately she visits our house way too often, including this morning as I was doing my bloggin!

  12. Strawberry Blonde says:

Sounds like your monster is a little behind. Seems like the rest of us had a Monster Mommy visit yesterday. May the sweet loving Emily Mommy return soon.

  13. Angie says:

If my kids don’t straighten up, Monster Mommy will be making an extended visit at my house…all summer long!

  14. Chatty Kelly says:

Thanks for visiting my blog today. Your layout is beautiful. I hope Monster Mommy gets a good night sleep and turns in to Super Mommy in the morning.

  15. The Roost'er says:

Is it summer vacation? I think the enormity of ’104 days of summer vacation’ has left me feeling caged and cornered. Fortunately, as with everyone else, this Mommy returned today and it felt good to be back. May you return safely, as well.

  16. Angela says:

I was feeling this way today–hoping I wasn’t the only one. Exactly. Ugh, it’s like I know I am being ugly and mean and I just can’t stop until…who knows what it will take. Thanks for being honest!

  17. His Girl says:

    oh dear, I know her.

  18. cynthia says:

    i know her too.
    we’ve all been there.

    and your honesty…i love it.

  19. Heather says:

The planets must be misaligned because she’s here too!!

Love, love, love your blog! I’ve been lurking for awhile now, but I just had to comment on your Monster Mommy post. I have been a Monster Mommy the past couple days myself. Your post hit home so much that I had to forward it to my husband to read, and I told him “See, I’m not the only one.” We are preparing to move right now and I think the cleaning and arranging and general exhaustion that comes with moving will turn any mommy into a monster real quick. Glad you are doing better now, though. Take care, Jill
