Yesterday I talked about how I’m not going to be all sentimental and look back over 2008. But I’m alone on New Years Eve so what else am I supposed to do?! Here are a few highlights from Chatting at the Sky 2008. Click to enjoy.

Here’s to another year of discovering the holy and the humorous in the midst of everyday life.

Great posts, Emily! ‘Specially since I didn’t see some of them the first time around.
It’s funny, I asked what people gave their babysitters a while back, and the comments were hilarious. It’s always going to be a little awkward, I think — but I DID find that it varies a bit based on location.
Have a happy New Year! I’m home alone w/ the kids, too…
I love your blog! You have such a way with words. And you are super witty too! I look forward to reading from you next year!
Hi, Dear One!!!
I am pausing in the midst of my laundry room makeover (yes, we are just that cool — I’m laying vinyl tile on my concrete basement floor on New Year’s Eve. I’m LOVING it! In the morning, we’ll wake up, come downstairs to a new laundry room floor and BEAUTIFUL svelte sage walls *mwah!*).
Thanks for a year of inspiration – truly, as I painted the walls and laid the flooring tonite, I thought of you and how finding your blog has been life changing for me. Your a sweet ‘friend’ – and I look forward to learning more from you and perhaps sharing a bit more of myself on my own blog in the year to come…and to think, it all started when all I wanted to do was make a comment to a fellow young mom in the depths of the toddler years.
God Bless you in ’09, Emily.
You have certainly been a blessing to us out ‘here.’

now, back to that floor…
Happy New Year, Emily! May 2009 be full of blessings for you and yours!
I think I might have missed a few of those posts on their first “go round” too. I’ll be checking them out tomorrow (or later today) when I’m not “enjoying” the effects of NYE champagne! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year friend!
happy new year, friend. can’t wait to go peruse back over your beautiful handwritten work!
also, just a delayed comment, i absolutely LOVED that cool pic of your calendar on your last post. i brought randy over and was all, “look at how she blurred all that, and only kept the 31 in focus…” blah blah singing your praises for your amazing photography.
I am so thankful that Lord has introduced us this year (or reintroduced to be specific). Can’t wait to share many more of those mundane moments with you…and quite possibly a few extraordinary ones as well. Now off to deal with Emma who is yelling that Abby is putting salsa in her cereal…ahhh….welcome 2009.
Your gorgeous kitchen is amazing!
You're a wonderful photographer. I can't wait to meet you in person too at Blissful, it's going to be a lot of fun putting names & faces together of all of you I've met this last year.
Blessings in the New Year!
Happy New Year to you!!! Looking forward to reading your blog this upcoming year and what the our Lord does in your life and family!

Tiffany in Washington…for now
I remember every single one of these! What does that say about your skills as a writer? Memorable for sure!
Wishing you all the best that 2009 has to offer. Thanks for the sweet comments!
If there was some official contest where someone cared about my vote, your blog would be “the best of 08″ you have become a weekly/daily visit in my life – thank you and happy new year! oh,and that babysitter segment was great, I have referred many moms to it.
I have told a lot of people about your babysitters posts. They gave good perspective to my daughter the babysitter, as well as those who hire babysitters. They were really helpful for me too, as I am sometimes the middleman.
Happy 2009!
Such great posts!! I can’t wait to read what you come up with in 2009! Love you!
