Nothing says spring more than this pink fluffy tree in our yard. It is my favorite thing about today. Makes me want to stop and chat at the sky.

I’m trying to ignore how terribly the blue sky clashes with my header. Kindly do the same. Then tell me…what is your favorite thing about today?

My favorite thing about today (so far) is my four month old sleeping in until 8:00 and me getting extra snuggle time on the couch with the three year old. It’s a rare treat and I try to sit back and enjoy it instead of using the extra time to get stuff done. Although, if I would have read this question around 6:00 tonight, I probably would have answered “That it’s almost bedtime.”
Being given the gift of another day and listening to my children’s laughter!!
Warm blueberry waffles with butter only and my 7 yr old folding clothes with me
The best thing so far today is my children playing together, nicely. There is a giant mess of toys everywhere and snow on the ground (someone please tell Mother Nature that is is April 7th!!) so if I must be stuck inside, this is definately a blessing (even with the mess)

ps. Spoke too soon, screaming has begun

My son just said “I uv you” for the first time…I just finished a post about it. Come visit me!
that today was beautiful & the 2 year old & i got out to take a walk with the dog! hopefully spring is on its way!
It’s SPRING BREAK!!! Even if my husband is stuck on the couch most of the day recovering from surgery and I am running around trying to be “cook/maid/driver/nannie/…” The fact that we’re all home together is always a highlight!
My favorite thing about today is not having to go anywhere or do anything. After a hectic day yesterday, I can hang at home with my son and do as much or as little as I choose (and I’m leaning more toward the “as little as” end of the spectrum today).
Also, visiting my favorite bloggy friends is putting a HUGE smile on my face. Blessings to you, Emily! Your pioture is stunning. And I think the blue sky enhances the pink flowers, not detracts from them. For whatever my two cents are worth!
Uh…. that would be “picture”, not “pioture”. I think I’ve just invented a new word (((blush))).
Girl, the nap I just woke up from. And a ma-in-law Japanese dinner in a few hours. Very very good things.
I am going to choose this moment. The moment when I was challenged to think of something good. I’m finding myself very negative this morning. This moment is when I’m turning it around!
I am desperately trying to ignore the fact that our high of 38 clashes with my NEED for warm spring weather.
But I browsed through Target this morning and found adorable beaded sandals and a cute bird pillow, so all is good with the world.
Oh emily! Thank you for asking us to think of what is our favorite thing about today. I’m gonna pick more than one if that’s okay.
The privilege of praying with others, a good spiritual conversation that got me to think, one free class period to get work done since a class is on a field trip, my husband bringing me to work today, the anticipation of getting to go to a special celebration dinner with people from my church tonight.
Thank you, thank you my friend for the motivation to think in this way.
Also, on my computer the header and photo won’t fit on the screen at the same time anyway so the varied blues weren’t even on my radar.
I hope you are having a wonderful day chatting at the sky. Kelly
Don’t you just love Spring time! Very pretty blooms and color there.
My favorite thing about this day was this morning, when my sixth-grader walked outside on the way to school and said, “I love the way it smells outside after it rains.” God is good!
My favorite thing about today…I’m putting together a care package for MY BABY GIRL! I can’t wait to stare into those beautiful eyes in person instead of half way across the world in a photo!!!!!!!! That’s my favorite thing about today……….
I homeschool, and one of my children finished school today BEFORE LUNCH. A rare, very rare, treat. Now, if I can only get the other one to finish his work. But I’m not going to let that take away the beauty from my early finisher
My favorite thing so far about today is… your photo.
Thanks for giving a “natural” broadcast to help me remember the big picture on what has been a challenging day.

I hosted brunch with my Bible study ladies and their little ones today! I was sad that it was our last session, but so blessed by our fellowship!!! I pray that true friendships would continue between me and these ladies. Blessings!
Giant, cake-like, pastel-colored, oh-so-yummy and very evil cookies The Man brought home from the bakery. 21 of them to be exact. So, that will be my favorite thing for today. And tomorrow. And hopefully the next day…
I got this wonderfully exciting phone call today from my agency!! There is a birthmother due in JUNE that is going to be looking at our profile! We may not be chosen but that didn’t stop me from shaking at the possibility!!
I love ya, Emily!
Avery’s awesome crimped hair! And using my new convection oven for the first time – fabulous muffins! Oh and we are going rock climbing tonight… Oh and I finished the second coat of paint on the stairs and back room. AND I definitely can’t forget to say that it has been lightly raining for about 3 days, not something to normally be thankful for, but it is doing wonders at melting our snow!!!
Glad you made me take a second and think about all of that. Since I am in paint covered sweatpants and I hit myself in the hair with a paint covered roller… well, I wasn’t feeling so… well, “good” at the moment!
long time reader, first time commenter (i think)! beautiful image and i love the blog. favorite thing about today… the rain! it’s one of those cozy, chilly days where the boys and i are in sweats and pjs. it’s an ordinary day of laundry and bottles and building forts – but i wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Snow flurries! Of all things, here in GA on April 7th. And during Spring break too.
Cofirmation from the Lord! He is working, and I am in awe of how He is speaking to His children!
Soaking in the sunshine while sipping smoothies with my 4 yr. old.
This mornings cool air on my face. Before too long it will feel like a giant hair dryer each time I walk out my door. I still love Arizona, this has been a fabulous spring since I’m home schooling, we are enjoying more than usual.
my favorite thing is either my silk scarf I’m painting for a friend, or a chat on the phone with a friend about the meaning of that verse, each has to work our his own salvation. Uhm, that is paraphrased. We did not even bother to look it up, but we discovered our mutual understanding about it.
My favorite thing about today? The homeschool group that I direct had its last class today. YIPEE! It’s like the principal is on vacation, although the teacher still has to work.
Hey Emily- so Im getting excited Im getting close to finishing this kitchen! I broke down & bought a power sprayer – it did 14 cabinet doors in like 8 min! I was freaking out!!! but when I got to the black Sherwin Williams Enamel paint-it was a NO GO! kept cloggging the sucker up- so I headed to HDepot & got the Behr Kitchen & Bath paint-so its working now- all i have to do now is hand paint the cubbards & find some new hardware. Still havent decided on what to do with the Island– black or do a creamy white like yours. If you want to check out the progress here is the latest post http://theecklife.blogspot.com/2009/04/chaos-to-get-order.html
Have a great day!!! OH and cried when I read the post about the little ones growing up- it is oh so true I have one in Kindergarten & a 2 yo and a 6 month old- *sniff* *sniff* it goes so fast.
My favorite thing today was teaching art to 20 kindergartners that love me because I let them paint!
I have a few favorite things from today. First waking up to snow flurries in April…..and in the south!!!!! What a treat to see some snow! And 2nd, my son behaving himself during the grocery store trip! That’s a rarity, but certainly a pleasure! And 3rd, rewarding my son’s great behavior with a trip to the “pink bakery” to pick out a cookie! Seeing him press his little hands and nose to the glass and point to the decorated sugar cookie of his choosing. “I want dat on wif da bawue and red icing” Of course I got a cookie too. I was very well behaved in the grocery store!
My favorite thing about today is knowing that tomorrow is my 14th anniversary being married to my best friend.
My favorite thing about today is finding out that my boss gave me Thursday and Friday off this week … yea!
4 yr old son on the autism spectrum hopped into bed with me this AM and the first words out of his mouth, “I uvv eww, Womme”. That and getting to spend another wonderful day with my kids (we are having an AWESOME Spring Break together! It’s been so much fun to have daily trips/activities with them! We are doing a “picnic” Spring Break … having picnics in as many places as possible – the pool, our living room, playground, etc.)
Out of town company that had been here a week went home. I finally found someone to repair our sidewalk. The cabinet lady showed up with the final plans. My husband made a new and yummy dish for dinner. My sister came to dinner. Too many to list! Yay!
Getting to hang out with you at your house with the pink tree!
The best thing about today so far is snuggling with my son in the chair watching Martha Speaks this morning before I had to go to work and he had to go to the babysitter. I don’t get the chance to cuddle too much anymore now that he is over 2 and always on the go!
the 1/2 eaten left-over cannolli from the italian restaurant we ate at 3 nights ago, scarfed up in a moment of need for comfort food!
How beautiful, Emily! Hmmm, my favorite thing is our 60-somethin’ degree weather and sunshine…first time all week!
My favorite thing about today is that having finally had time to update my own blog and read at least a couple of my favorite blogs, I was drawn to check yours first, and was reminded that even lovely, talented, faithful people such as yourself have the same sort of moments of self-doubt and self-criticism as I do, and there is comfort in this, somehow.
