Celebrating the small things does not come natural to me. Most of the time, I am in survival mode, thankful to make it to bedtime. That is why I so love this project. For these moments, in this place, I slow down. If only for a few minutes, we have permission to take the time to unwrap the small, secret gift of the everyday.
Come celebrate the moment with me. Not what will be or what is to come, but what is real and true this day: the messy, the lovely, and the unexpected. Share a photo, a story, or anything that offers a glimpse into your own journey of discovering the gifts in the midst of the ordinary.
All you have to do is put the permalink to your Unwrapped post in the Mister Linky. Be sure to include a link back here and feel free to use the pink button above.
If you are having trouble with the Linky, simply click ‘home’ in the navigation at the top of the page.

Tuesdays Unwrapped is a wonderful idea! Everyone can use a little helpful reminder to be thankful for the everyday things. Thanks Emily!

Emily – I am surprised to hear you say “celebrating the small things doesn’t come natural to me.” I think you do it so well. I love you, my friend!
I am very excited about this! Lately, I have just felt the need for simplicity and refocusing my time and energies on what really matters. There is so much to be thankful for. Great idea!
I hadn’t planned on doing this one, but I think what I wrote last night ended up working with the theme, rather unintentionally. If not, my apologies.
Emily,
I love your blog and read it daily. I’m happy to join your linky party. Thanks for hosting. Love today’s photo!
So excited to slow down a bit and celebrate!!!!
OK, I do not see a Mr. Linky form in your post. It’s just a skinny, empty box with no Mr. Linky guts inside. I am using Firefox, and tried Safari. Maybe I’ll run downstairs and try IE…
great idea and pretty button–i love how springy it looks on my blog.
thanks for reminding us to slow down.
PS,
I’m pretty sure this is the best post on the internet today.
thank you.
OK, now that I am looking on Internet Explorer I see Mr. Linky!
Thanks for reminding me to look at what is important and what is usually missed in all my running around!
OK, feel free to delete the last two comments. I’ve figured it out. Mr. Linky is empty when we click on your permalink and go just to this post, but when we are viewing this post along with all the others, sans comments, on your home page, Mr. Linky works fine.
Anywhoo, my link shows a video of my husband serenading me in our front yard. We are going through a giant financial crisis right now, so the fact that we can laugh and sing on our front porch in the midst of this storm testifies to the love, mercy, peace and grace that our Savior has been pouring out on us every day. I didn’t say all of that in my post because I try to not focus on the bad stuff going on (denial?) but I thought a little back story posted here was a good idea…sorry to totally monpolize your comments box, emily!!
Emily, I love this idea. My news year’s resolution was to celebrate the small moments, to not wish the time away, to delight in the moment I’m in. So it might not fit perfectly, but I thought I’d squeeze in a story from a few days ago. Thanks for hosting tuesdays unwrapped!
I love this idea as well. I also really like the picture you posted, way cool! Have a GREAT Tuesday!!
No post to link to, but my moment is that I’m going to take a shower (shocking, I know) and take my clean little self to some outside location and just hang out. Not sure what I’ll do. Probably a few things I should and even more that have no purpose, but I’m excited. Won’t you join me? I’ll have my phone!!
Thanks for letting me share my “going to the creek” moment. Intentionality and savoring the small things are my hearts desire, but sometimes it’s so…hard…and how can it be, when it’s the simple, easy things that are the big things.
I agree that you don’t give yourself enough credit. I do think it comes naturally to you, or at least it seems to from your writing.
I wanted to play along today, but my laptop, camera and internet are not playing nicely together.
But thank you for the reminder that slowing down and noticing is so important.
Thank you! I LOVED doing this!
I had to go to IE too, to find Mr. Linky….does he hide like that often????? I hope you don’t mind me doing a combined post today to include your Tuesdays unwrapped….such a lovely topic, but I had SO, SO much to blog about today that I had to include lots of topics! This is a beautiful idea….love it!
Suzanne
Hi Emily, I had forgotten about your Unwrapped posts so I didn’t do a new one today. But since I do my Beautiful Life posts on Fridays, I will link up then. To start, I have linked up last Friday’s “Capture the Moments” post. I am with you on finding beauty in the ordinary moments!
blessings,
melissa
I wrote about the exact same topic today, so how wonderful to discover you are, too. I quickly edited to incorporate your project. I love it.
Katie
I’ve been thinking quite a bit about thankfulness, and appreciating the small things – nice to see you pulling us all together!
)
Thanks so much for this wonderful idea!! I have tried so hard to make my blog a celebration of the little things in my life. While it is not a place like yours, which inspires so many people, it has been an excellent way for me to balance the difficult things with the simple and beautiful things.
xoxoxo
Love this idea! Celebrating the little things is such a big thing for me
I am so happy to have stumbled upon your blog. The Universe must have drawn me here, because it seems we are on the same wavelength! I have recently become committed to living mindfully and I’ve decided that Saturdays will be my day to post about it. I hope that regular posting, will help me remember to be more mindful.
Yesterday, as I was hurrying into the bank with DD in tow, she was delighted to see a snail. I had a moment of clarity…and instead of rushing her inside, I stopped. We watched that snail for a good 5 minutes. A SNAIL!! And I don’t regret one minute of it. ; )
I *heart* this idea! Thanks so much for hosting~ I find great delight in slowing down and appreciating all that is beautiful in the everyday. Thanks!
Susan
I’m home with a sick baby today, and I’m so glad for that! Not that he’s sick, but that we get to spend a quiet day together, getting to know each other all over again. There isn’t enough time for things like this.
sweet.

These days those small moments are so important. They’ll keep us going during these hard and good times.
This is an inspiring idea and a gift to your readers. I reposted so that i could participate, as was doing a gratitude journey of forgiveness for Lent that is almost wrapped up. ( oh that it could be that easy).
great picture! Love the clarity of it!
i LOVE this idea. i’m all about making a big deal out of the little things.
i’ll see if i can get my act together today … i might have to join in next week.
Thanks for suggesting this!
No time for linky here, but my gift today (besides many) is the nap I’m going to be taking in the SUNSHINE here in a few minutes. I love basking in the sun.
Love you Em!
Loving celebrating with you!
did it. love it.
i could NOT get the pink rose “tuesdays unwrapped” button to save for me. i worked on it for about 20 minutes before giving up. but i linked up a few times, so i hope that covers it. i hope i remember that it’s tuesdays next tuesday.
emily, I loved this in Dec. and am so glad you’re doing it again! I’m leaving on a date with my husband, in the middle of the afternoon, in the middle of the week! Kelly
I love this idea!!
Thanks so much for this excellent reminder! Oh how I want to remember to slow down and BE THANKFUL!!
Bless you!
Thanks so much for helping me find an ordinary moment, and make it extraordinary. I happened upon some beauty in my not so beautiful backyard. Even stumbled upon a Robin’s nest with 4 eggs inside. It’s amazing what God can show you about His creation if you open your eyes.
Wow! I was so inspired after reading your post (and lifeingrace) today, that I decided to finally post to my blog. I have been wanting to start a blog, but I have been a little unsure. I finally did it and I am very excited and still nervous! As my post stated, my little girl inspired me just as I sat down to write something! Thank you for reminding me to take time out and enjoy the little things! Would you call me every morning? You could have voice recordings!! Ha, ha!
I am a little upset because my posting is not spaced out correctly–looks sloppy! Any suggestions?

This is such a great idea, and such a challenge! Not an easy thing to do with three crazy kids who are currently on spring break:) However, I added my link. Can’t wait to read everyone else’s.
Brilliant. Today was one of “those” days … I really needed the reminder to notice, and appreciate, the moment. Thank you.
Love this concept, love this picture. What a blessing to have a visual record of the quieter times in life!
I hope you make this a regular feature! I would love to join in but am out of town this week, so it’s extra crazy and not a good week for me to participate. I’m totally not in any kind of normal routine.
Makes it easy to find the beautiful!
And, truly, isn’t life all about the little things?
Thank you for reminding me the beautiful truth of taking time to unwrap the precious moments in our life that we have been so blessed with. This is the first time I’ve been on this site and I am so glad I had an opportunity to find it. I hope all of you have a wonderful Wednesday filled with unwrapped precious moments. All 4 HIM, Angela
Love this idea. Thanks.
Emily, I am so glad my post made you laugh, that’s exactly how I felt when I saw Mr. Bones! Thank you so much for doing Tuesdays Unwrapped; it is truly a blessing–obviously to many of us. God Bless.
I thought it was a wonderful idea and participated but never received one comment, for any of you who visited my site could you tell me what turned you off?? I know not everyone comments at every site but surely you do at some, I know that’s how it is with me.
Thank you…
Sorry I’m late — adding to you Wednesday– but I love that you do this!
Cheryl – I sent you an email about that…I think there is something wrong with your comments section! I tried to leave a comment but it simply wouldn’t go through.
That is an awesome picture!
hey there! well, as always, i forgot, and then came over, and then remembered…and what i had posted went well…so now i’m here. glad to be a mess and a masterpiece right along with the rest of them!
Cheryl – I went to your site and it gave me an error message and then my browser locked up. Other people might have had that problem, too. Hope you get it straightened out!
adding late…hope that’s ok!
love reading these each week
