fireworks and some people

Not everyone likes them, you know. Some people think they are too loud. Some people won’t be dreaming about them and don’t want to see them again. At least, that’s what my five-year-old told me as she covered her ears and cowered beneath the arm of the nearest grown up. I can’t imagine who she may have been talking about.

We are graced with blasts from nearby blueberry cannons. My 10 yr old son asks me several times a day what those blasts are. I tell him the same thing. I think he just likes to hear the word cannon. Today he asked, “Do the cannons shoot the blueberries?” Whatever. Dog can’t stand the whole situation.

I’d prefer fireworks myself but you take what you can get I suppose.

Cute story about your little one!

Bless her heart. My baby, (who doesn’t realize she’s a dog,) tucks her tail between her legs and “cowers beneath the arm of the nearest grownup,” or leg or whatever she can find.

I don’t really like the noise myself, but I do love the sparkly.

I don’t like fireworks at home…I would much rather go see a professional shoot them off. Alex and I are tempted to shoot firecrackers off right behind our children at a very young age, so they are always scared of them. Then we don’t have to worry about shooting them off every year. Is that mean?

My kids don’t hate them, but they are definitely not jumping up and down asking for “more- more – more!” So, this year, since so many neighbors had bought their own, we stayed indoors (no mosquitoes) and watched in our jammies!! It was a BLAST!!! :)

Every single one of my kids loves them…even the two year old. She is fearless that one.

Bless her heart, that little girl of yours. Maybe next year will be better!!!

Hi, Emily, hope you are having a wonderful beach vacation! Love Hilton Head & have many memories of going there over the years as a young adult. Great place for families too. Enjoy!

We got to see (and hear) some fireworks last night too, always fun for the 4th!

Gorgeous photo! And the horses didn’t like the fireworks much, but my 2yo was quite happy with them…

That photo is amazing. Tonight at the fireworks show my niece waved her hand up at the booms and lights in the sky and politely yelled, “No thank you!”

The photo is amazing. Can I ask how you shot it? Settings, I mean. Your sweet little one. She’s funny. Wonder where she gets that?
Indy loves fireworks, but dh (and many of the soldiers we know) suffer from PTSD so we skipped the fireworks this year. :( Dh held up okay on New Year (Germans do it big on NY), but it wasn’t his favorite night, so we decided we could do without the 4th fireworks. Plus, it stays light so late here in the summer they couldn’t start them until after 11pm. Who can stay up that late after a long day of bbqing?

Your photo is gorgeous!! I found your blog through your sister. What kind of camera do you have and what setting did you have it on? I couldn’t get one good pic of the fireworks!

you brought me back to when I had a little one covering their ears, not sure to be happy or scared, with one eye closed and one eye open ’cause it really is pretty

wow, gorgeous photo! My 4 year old love the fireworks, the 2 year old spent the whole time clinging to me with his head buried in my neck (I loved it!) It was so late he fell asleep there.

That is a great shot! And I remember my Kiddo wearing protective earmuffs when he was little because he didn’t like the noise. I think secretly he still doesn’t.

I have a fireworks post up, too. An unusual memory to add to my repertoire. : )

    aawe, some people… cute!

My son loves fireworks-my two cats, not so much. The poor fur-babies were huddled under the bathroom vanity in the guest bathroom, eyes huge and tails fizzed out. I think they’d be willing to make room for your little one as long as she can scratch under a chin!

    Too cute!

Hey, I have Internet, but my email is messed up here and I have no idea how to fix it. So…I’ll be back in touch in a few days. In the mean time I’ll keep doing stuff on my end and you just keep doing what you’re doing and then we’ll compare notes. Remember, no stress!

You can still reach me via my blog or on my facebook email (I think!).

That photo is fabulous! Don’t know how in the world you captured it. As for your fiction post, the Mark of the Lion trilogy is also one of my favorites. Don’t know how I forgot to mention that one. Hope HHI was wonderful.
