Loved every minute of this vacation. But even with the pile of laundry, the empty fridge and the dead plant on the porch, the best part of being gone is coming home.

I just stumbled onto your site and already love it. Just thought I’d say. I read your about section and totally connected with it. I just started blogging and have no idea where it is headed, but do like to process “out loud” the life and lessons and meaning around me. And I like to find the humor in life. I have been through my share of “stuff” that I haven’t blogged about yet…but hope to eventually offer more than just a recap of my daily life and a smile…I am hoping the Meaning will come through. I am looking forward to being inspired by your blog. Oh, and I LOVE high schoolers too. happy day to you!
I love coming home to my familiarities too. That photo of the girls little legs at the beach evoked so many wonderful summer holiday memories for me, thanks!
I kind of sit and lurk on your site. I love your writing and your photos! I was reminded today how important it is to let the person know you are reading! With that said, I love your blog! I will continue to read! Happy Coming Home!
Thank you for sharing! Every time I read your blog it is so refreshing. It makes me take a deep breath, exhale and remember to enjoy all of life’s little details!
I was sold on the coming home thing until I relooked at that beach scene. Just something about how the sun is hitting that yellow canoe? kayak? boat? had me wanting to be there. NOW.
Beautiful photographs! I know what you mean about home. It is such a delightful place to be. I remember just loving the feel of our carpet under my toes when we first got home from our 15 day road trip. I think most every place we’d been had had hardwoods and it was just a soft homey sort of feeling. Kelly
I have a Nikon D60 and love it…I am still learning it though! I love the blurring background look can you ‘teach’ me (through email) how to get that look with the Nikon?
Love Love your blog and your pictures are amazing!
Looks like you had lots of fun. I wish we lived by a beach. Any beach. Attached to an ocean, and not a stinky, big salty lake. Our clothes must think we went on vacation, their piling rate is startling. And don’t get me started on the state of our fridge. Things I didn’t plant are GROWING in there.
Thank you for sharing some of your beautiful photos with us. It must give you a lot of joy to be able to chronicle your time at the beach with such lovely pictures.
But you are right: the best part is coming home. Aren’t we blessed to have homes to come to?
