a beautiful life

beautiful life

Usually I’m the one who designs the rooms, places the furniture and feeds the babies around here. But sometimes, they do it. It is a beautiful life to have them here every day. To know where they are and what they are doing. To nearly step on tiny bear babies and miniature highchairs set up in the sunroom. We have four days left until Kindergarten starts. I think they are ready. I hope I am.

I’m linking up to day with Melissa’s A Beautiful Life Friday series, celebrating beautiful finds and moments from the week.

  3. What a sweet, sweet photo. Praying for a wonderful school year for you and yours, dear friend.

  4. Rhonda says:

Oh Sweet Emily! I know you will miss them…I have found that if I focus on the good aspects of the next phase of thier life, its easier. I have never been a mama that wishes back to the last phase, partially because *it*just*keeps*getting*better! PROMISE.

As they enter school, you will see them grow and develop in new and exciting ways…see them stretch and also get to see how God places people in thier lives to strenghten them and also how your girls will strengthen others. Its hard not having as much time with them…but still it can be good. Hang in there.

  5. Chele says:

  8. Terri says:

So very sweet! A whole new world is opening up for you all!! Last year when my baby boy started kindergarten, it was so precious when he came home each day filled with stories and wonders from his day. He loved to share every detail, repeat every story, and demonstrate every activity!!! I will see you again next week!!!! I just registered for the conference at Southbrook! Blessings!!!

  9. Misty says:

You know I was right there with you last year. It is a HUGE adjustment but you will walk through it. Kindergarten is so much fun! After they get in a groove they will love it! Hang in there my friend. Hugs to you and yours…

  10. Heathahlee says:

That is so sweet! I remember playing with tinies like that. I will be praying for you, my friend.

such a touching moment…life is filled with milestones, my senior in high school this year…

  12. I love that photo – although I thought the bear was a mouse.

Looking back now, the only other anxiety inducing moment I can compare sending my oldest to college is when he went to school for the first time. The letting-go cycle has begun for you. It’s a big step. (((HUGS)))

  13. adornedlife says:

i so love this picture. it is the essence of all things little girl. i read this while my three play playmobil/foam castle/dollhouse/blocks/mermaid/tape measure trapeze all mixed together…i love it. it is true: it keeps getting better…the fun hasn’t stopped, it just keeps getting more and more creative.
there will be tears, there will be great joy, lots of hugs, lots of laughter, a tidal wave of emotion…all part of this beautiful thing called motherhood.
i am praying for you and look forward to reading of the great adventure.

  14. The Scooper says:

I love that scene. I can’t tell if it’s my house or yours. Blondie just informed me today that she loves to play Barbies at one neighbor’s house over another’s because neighbor #1 has the most Barbie food. Oh to be a little girl again.

Hope their first day of Kindergarten goes well…for them and for you! Blondie’s school had a boo-hoo breakfast for the kindergarten parents and no other moms boo-hoo’d but me.

  15. We used to set all kinds of scenes with Legos and make stories about them that took days to finish. Your post took me right back to those days. My children are grown now, and I like to remember how it was when they were young.

  16. Claire Hill says:

What a sweet picture. I have no excuse for not practicing my photography if you can take adorable pictures like that. I have to share with you that I often save your pictures for the background on my computer screen because they make me smile.

I so wish I could go to Charlotte next weekend to meet you and your sister. Just can’t though.

Like your other reader, the first day of kindergarten and taking them to college are hard. Make plans to be busy that day.

  17. I recall each of my 3 going off the first day. I knew I would not cry as they were ready… I was ready. Never failed that I was a total mess for the rest of the day.

You blog is lovely… I am posting and will go back to read some more.

    Thanks!

    Claudia

  18. Praying for you this week, friend.

  19. Boy Crazy says:

ahhh…kindergarten. going through the same thing here, although I’ll still have two at home with me. I just wrote about it yesterday, too. I think all of us sending our oldest children off to k-garten for the first time share the sentiment.

You picture also reminded me of some I have taken lately, but haven’t gotten to posting about. I’m still trying to get my laughter into words in order to describe how differently my boys play with the doll house I got them than our little girl friends. :) Your picture serves as a nice contrast for what goes on over here. ;)

  20. Jes says:

It really is the little things. . .good luck with the first day of kindergarten. I’m thanking God that I’m not there for a few more years.

  21. john_coner says:

life is great we should take all the chances to be happy

  22. Tina says:

oh em, what a beautiful thought…i love having mine here everyday as well. stepping on the legos and crunching cheese crackers under my bare feet just reminds me that we are here. together.
