Thanks!! A wonderful reminder. Every time we loosen our “mom” grip and release those precious lives into the care of someone else, God’s grip has never changed. They are simply resting where they always were..in His palm. Their position hasn’t changed. OURS has. Each release is preparation for the final one when they go out on their own. Experiencing this as I have let my first go. He is a Marine now, and it is trusting in this truth that he is still resting in God’s hands, his position unchanged…my position and role are changed, that makes it all a transition filled with grace, confidence and peace. God loves them more than we do. His eye is ALWAYS on them.

….Jesus Calling is truly one of the best devotional books i have ever read…along with the old old streams in the desert…this little book is destined to become a classic…one was given to me by a dear friend…and i in turn have given many copies to others…if you know someone who is hurting…if you know someone who is a new christian…give them first your love and support…and then give them this little book…pass it on….blessings

I haven’t commented here before, but I read often.
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing this today- it was exactly what I needed to hear. My 13 yo little brother has brain cancer and today has been incredibly tough (just blogged about it here: http://themcgfamily.blogspot.com/2009/08/if-youve-ever-loved-someone-with-cancer.html#links). Just the reminder I needed, though. I recognize that God is good, in control, love, etc… but heart needs to trust, to entrust JD to his care. So simple, but so profound.
