sittin’ on ready

front living room

Remember this room from this post? The one where I asked for your advice on knocking out this wall? Well, you spoke and I listened. So now, it looks like this.

empty room

One step closer. Of course, the kids immediately brought toys down from the play room to junk it up because being present in an empty room without toys is evidently against kid law. Construction starts on Wednesday. We’re sittin’ on ready, as my sweet, Southern mother-in-law would say. Actually, we’re sitting on nothing if you want to be accurate. Can’t wait to show you after photos. It won’t be long now!

You’ve got such a beautiful house. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when they’re finished. Good luck with everything!!!

So, are you going to hang plastic in your doorways to keep the demo dust from dirtying up the rest of your immaculate house? Just wondering. Because I didn’t and I paid for it. Soooo…I guess that’s not really a question, it’s more like a thinly veiled suggestion, mother-in-law style. *clears throat*

So tell us oh wise renovator…is the whole wall coming down? Are you arching it like in the photos I sent you? Tell us…TELL US!

All they need is a pair of socks and bam! Instant skating rink. That’s what we used to do in empty rooms with nice hardwood floors.

Can’t wait to see the after.

Can’t wait to see the after!!! Maybe you’ll inspire me to knock my wall done… after we’re done with the nursery, master bath remodel, and mantel project. Ugh!!! Too much to do!!!

“Sitting on ready.” I love that expression.

It’s not a kid law that there be toys in every room. It’s a law that fun must be had in any big, empty space, especially if said space has hardwood floors. Toys are optional, actually. Sometimes all they require are sock feet. But if toys are needed, they will be brought in. Anything for the cause.

Looking forward to seeing your new space!

I’m impresses at the speed! I usually have to mull things over for a sweet forever before anything actually happens.

Wow–I am impressed by the warp speed of this makeover. At my house, an undertaking of this magnitude would be discussed for months before my husband would decide to do it himself…resulting in a string of weekend projects that would last for more months, if not years. So even thought it might not take much to impress me–impressed I am!

Can’t wait to see the outcome. We just closed on our house today and we start moving in tomorrow. I can’t wait to start decorating.

Oh, my gosh, as gorgeous as your house already is, I’m about ready to jump out of my seat in anticipation of what you’re gonna do with that wall! I’ll even overlook the fact that you’re giving up my long-dreamed-of formal living room. (Grin!) No sittin’ on ready for me… I’m pacin’ the hardwood in anticipation!

hello! We just moved into a house and were looking for some inspiration ourselves! I’ve always wanted black kitchen cabinets, but I had to talk my hubby into it! fortunately I found your post and now we are stripping them ready for black paint! We were having trouble finding a nice neutral color for our living room, What color is that that you have?
