the rest express

railroad

There has been a lot of stuff going on, along with some things and a few happenings. Isn’t that how it always is? I need some perspective in the midst of all the action, especially considering the fact that it is almost mid-November. Tuesdays are a great time to jump off the speeding train and take a slow walk down the empty tracks: to consider the gifts in front of me, to receive life, to extend grace, to give my soul some space to take a breath.

What are the gifts before you this day? Click on the button below to learn more about Tuesdays Unwrapped. Feel free to grab the button for your own post.

  1. Hi Emily, I had my Tuesday morning tonight, but it looks like you’re looking ahead too. :) I love the picture of the tracks. How I would love to walk solo down those tracks with nothing but an open mind. Thanks again for your Tuesdays. It is a gift for so many.

Here’s to the passengers on the rest express…may it include lots of love, grace and coffee

  3. hi my friend – I’m here, linking live from Ecuador. It’s happening, and I’m a part of it. Just finished with a five hour electricity black out, so I set my alarm to wake me up so I could post my Tasty Tuesday link..commitments, you know. And then I thought how perfect to link up here with this picture that says it all. I wish I could upload more since they’re SUCH a picture of grace but it’s taken me an hour just to load ten.

Love you and can’t wait to sit down with a Pumkin whatever that you love and CATCH UP!

  4. “some perspective in the midst of all the action”…I need that too!

  5. Dawn says:

  6. Dayle says:

The all important quiet time is a life-saver. Here’s hoping you find some today. Thanks for hosting Tuesday’s Unwrapped. Very inspirational.

  7. Kelly says:

Just leaving a comment to say hey. I planned for you yesterday, took a couple of photos, just for a post for you. :-) All that stuff and things make life so crazy, don’t they?

  8. Erin says:

    I love that picture!

  9. Tracey says:

My rest express will include a nice glass of wine and a Tylenol PM. Ok…maybe some blogs to cheer up my day as well

  10. Steph says:

I’ve been unplugged quite a bit with my newborn, but I felt the need to check in and detail the wonderful moments of my “everydays” today. How did it get to be nearly mid November anyway?!

  11. Richella says:

As always, your words and your images are good for my soul.

I didn’t participate in today’s Unwrapping. I wrote a Tuesdays-Unwrapped kind of post last Friday, and I almost linked it to today’s party, but then I decided that I’d just enjoy all the rest of y’all’s (do you ever say that? Not sure that it’s quite kosher to make a contraction possessive) moments. So I’m enjoying today as a reader, and as always I am grateful for you.

    Bless you, my sweet friend.

  12. Thanks, as always, for offering such a lovely venue to post our thoughts on daily blessings!

And by the way, I just finally had a chance to check out picnik and I am loving it — so this is the trick everyone knew about but me!! :)

Thanks for the tip — my pictures are going to look so much better!
