Often times I think of God as the holy invisible, the unseen Maker, the hiding weaver of evidence. But there are moments here and there where time takes a break and I am overcome with the reality of His presence. Where I see color and creation, laughter and relationships as good and perfect gifts that exist because He does. Where I notice that all these things are a direct result of a God who lives and works and IS among us, not because we believe, but because He does. My dad calls it The God Show. Care to watch?

Oh wow. I see that breath taking picture and my reaction is as yours– to say “He is here!”
your photograph is amazing (as always!)
i have been thinking about Him being invisible… and yet not. i am watching… certianly am!
Yes, I love to watch Him. Last night I was taking out the trash and He showed off His creative glory in a pink sunset through the bare tree branches. He is incredibly amazing and I’m in awe of His splendor!
Isn’t it just the loveliest thing that He is here because of Him, not because of us? Sometimes I feeled so heavily weighed down, so overcome by everything that must happen because of me, because of what I must do. It’s nice to be reminded that I don’t have to be omniscient and omnipresent. As John Ortberg says, “There is a God, and it is not me.”
Your dad’s blog is pretty amazing.
Thank you for sharing it today!
As always, your photo is breathtaking. I have moments like that when I look up and just say to myself “God. It’s all God” how could it not be?
Lovely post!
Watching Him, there is nothing better. Thanks for sharing this beautiful image with us today.
“He is here,
He is here,
to break the yoke and lift the heavy burden.”
beautiful, beautiful photo, emily. and thanks for the reminder of His presence.
You know, I’m still working on taking a good moon shot – these last couple you’ve posted have been gorgeous!
Yes, yes, yes! I do care to watch! Beautiful photo and beautiful thoughts, Emily!
got up to exercise the other morning and stopped in my tracks just outside the front door…the sky was studded with thousands of diamonds each radiating the same refrain:
The heavens keep telling the wonders of God,
and the skies declare what he has done.
Each day informs the following day;
each night announces to the next.
They don’t speak a word,
and there is never the sound of a voice.
Yet their message reaches all the earth,
and it travels around the world.
Psalm 19:1-4 CEV
For a long time, I considered this world such a sad place, even as a believer. And while, no doubt, hurt and pain abound, I have learned to look for God in the everyday ordinary stuff. The change is that I have to look and be intentional about looking and I’ve found that He is everywhere and is in everything.
That is a fabulous shot of the moon. Love it. And those moments? My hubby always called them “Yeah God!” moments (with the thumbs up).
Just wanted to say, Beautiful! Love your site and can’t wait to see the living room/den reveal!
God Bless
“The God Show”, oh I love that! I am a nature lover myself and love to take walks while thanking the Lord for His beautiful creation. It just lifts up my heart and spirit like nothing else.
I really enjoy your blog. You are such an inspiration!

p.s. Oh and I love how you knocked out your wall in your home. It sure opened it up. I have a few walls I would like to do the same, but I have to ask my hubby at just the right time so he doesn’t panic!! he he
the other day we were driving home from the beach, and the kids and ran and i saw the most amazing sunset. we all cheered for God, and as it got better and better, i said that He was just trying to show off. it was glorious.
It is amazing how “The God Show” come in very clear…high def even on some days. Other times I seem to get fuzzy reception. Must be a user error.
I just wanted to let you know I referenced your blog today on mine. Your posts have been so healing for me, like a balm that just soothes the sore in the wound. Thank you for all you do in your honesty and humility! Lives are being changed because of it.
