and the wall comes tumbling down

construction

I have nothing to offer today but this little preview of our living room. The wall is down! I’ve been measuring and sitting and staring and thinking. And then I move to the other side of the room and measure and sit and stare and think. This is most definitely my idea of a good time. It’s like I have half a new house. I’ve secretly been scoping out other walls in our house, wondering what if we just…?

(Just kidding, honey. I’m not really doing that. This is our last big project. Really.)

How exciting! I stared at a wall for 2 years and dreamt of what it would be like without it there.
Then we took it down in March.
Without checking to see if it was a load bearing wall.
But all’s well.. no worries. A few posts/ beams later, we’re back in business.
    No skylight after all. :)

Excited to see your after pics!

Lucky, lucky girl, you. You get everything. even getting something taken away counts as getting something, right? Can’t wait to see it and you, soon!

I can’t wait to see the finished product. I am in the middle of my own project….moving into a new house 800 miles from our old home. The movers showed up Tuesday and I have NOT stopped since. Can you say tired?

    Hi Emily,

Thanks for stumbling across my blog and taking a minute to introduce yourself! You have an adorable blog! Congrats on your book making it through Pub Committee! What does that mean next for you? Are you getting a contract offer? And what kind of book is it?

I wish you all the best and hope to “see” you again!

Look how neat that is! If we were tearing down walls, there would be hunks of drywall, nails and 2×4’s everywhere.

    I’m way impressed!

em, you simply Must post a side-by-side of the 3-d design and the constructed reality. blame it my ego, if you will, but i want to know how close i got! chalk it up to “a desiger’s satisfaction.” (when it’s done, of course)
