may your days be merry and bright

christmas forecast

Here’s our forecast for next week. I’m more excited than my kids. In the meantime, we wait for southern snow for this weekend. Oh snow. I love you.

We are SO JEALOUS of you. Our weatherman is saying that y’all will most likely get snow and that we will most likely get. . . well, what we usually get. We get to be “on the line.” Snow west of here.

But we did watch White Christmas last night, so at least we can dream. I couldn’t help but think of you and Nester as I hummed along with Rosemary Clooney. I can’t help but swoon for the Crooner.

    Enjoy your snow!

  2. Angie says:

I recently discovered your blog and love it! I am as enchanted as you by the snow warnings… storms from the south mean lots of it for my locale, too–up to 12 inches. Enjoy!

  3. Hurray for a white Christmas!!! Praying for one up here too! Odds are good. REALLY good. :-)

  4. Kristen says:

I saw that forecast and did a little dance. Going home to family for a white Christmas…yes, please!

  5. Our forecast is the same!! Come on white Christmas!!

  6. I’m jealous. Rain rain rain, I really dislike cold Florida rain.

  7. The Nester says:

    You get everything.

  8. duchess says:

We’re in the middle of a “wintery mix” as I type. It did force us to cancel our travel plans to NC this weekend – it’s no fun driving 5 hrs. in ice.
    Have fun playing!

  9. Katie says:

I’m so sad. You guys will have more snow than I do here in Wisconsin. Tear.

  10. Crystal says:

I have my fingers crossed for no snow…but its purely for selfish reasons, because my husband plows. If we have a white Christmas, more than likely he’ll have to be out plowing rather than home celebrating the day with us.

  11. Kristin says:

I must say a white Christmas is NOT on my wishlist. I can appreciate the beauty. I can appreciate the excitement for my children. But when the roads are messy and it all melts within a day and then turnes to muddy lawns and icy streets, I inwardly sigh and dream of spring.

I’m content to watch White Christmas on TV. But if God plans to send a bit of the real stuff, who am I to question? :-)

  12. Jill says:

    I want SNOW!!

  13. deidra says:

Double digit temps?!?!?!? Oh you lucky dog you!

  14. aubrey says:

You should move to Utah where we’ve had snow on the ground for a few weeks already and are sick of it. I still get hives about snow from two winters ago when I was sure it would keep snowing into June–it just. wouldn’t. stop. Yes, it really does snow in June here on occasion. Fortunately we have grocery stores and don’t depend on our crops anymore.

Anyway, you get the perfect amount of snow and it looks like you’re getting it at just the right time–yay! I need to move there so I’ll appreciate it. ;)

  15. Oh, we are in Arkansas and would totally love snow on Christmas! It’s such a rare treat in the South! Love your blog!! Hope your family has a wonderful and snowy Christmas!

  16. Kari says:

I have never dreamed of a white Christmas. I want to be able to get to see my family! I would hate to miss my family at Christmas! (And I know all the people from snowy places laugh at our inability to drive in it, but we get so much ice and our roads don’t get cleared off, especially where my mom lives.)

  17. I do wish we could have some December snow. It’s so Christmas-y with snow! Alas, it ain’t lookin’ likely here in Hawaii!

    Happy Snow Day!

  18. Linda says:

Although I have pretty much had my quota of snow (having lived way up north for the first 36 years of my life), we are ever hopeful here in South Texas for a white Christmas. My grandchildren have convinced me that we need to have snow at least once a year!
I hope you have a white Christmas!

  19. Southern Gal says:

I wish I lived a little further north. We live right on the border where the rain and snow meet…always. We’re hoping for a few snow flurries this Christmas season! Enjoy it.

  20. imoomie says:

    Love, love, love it!
We are having that kind of a weekend…
Let’s pull our dear ones close and whip up some hot chocolate!

  21. It’s snowing up here in Ohio! Our first real snow of the season. My sister and her hubby are driving up here tomorrow from SC. I’m praying they get here safely!

  22. I love it when it snows on Christmas! Hoping for a white Christmas in my neck of the woods.

  23. Courtney says:

So much fun. We are getting hit with a major snow storm now! 12-18 inches and possibly more on Christmas. We would love a white Christmas!!!

    Enjoy your week!

  24. We’ve been in the mid 70′s all week. I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. I’d travel to get it but I have guests coming who want resort style living in AZ. :)

  25. Isn’t it gorgeous? The problem..Gregg went to WI yesterday morning and he isn’t all snug and cozy with us….WAAA. Now, I am snowed in..literally can’t get out our driveway and I have to leave for church at 7am tomorrow to sing. There are only 3 of us singing, so I can’t skip. The kids and I are going to have to walk up the road and use my brother’s car (but you know how far that walk is at 7am.). Yes, sheer bedlam…beautiful, but bedlam. I know I will feel like Little House on the Prairie trudging miles through the snow…hee hee.

  26. Elaina says:

I’m jealous! It was 80 here in Southern Cal yesterday and will be 77 today. For once, it would be nice to have a little winter weather here at Christmas. :) But maybe it will snow (I can dream)when I get back to NC in Jan?

  27. Oh, I love snow too! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you have a white Christmas. We’ve got snow on the ground right now! We were in Paris on Thursday and it snowed 2 inches in less than 3 hours. It was awesome.

  28. adornedlife says:

i laughed at your sister’s comment…reminds me of my sister. hee hee.
enjoy some of that white stuff for us…a little too warm here still, but there’s still hope for january! wishing you and yours a blessed christmas.

  29. Melanie says:

I am a Floridian that just moved to northern KY. and we got about 2 inches this morning. You could sure tell who the newbies were in the neighborhood:) We were the only ones outside taking pictures of it!
