Each week when I unwrap the small everyday gifts on Tuesdays I wonder if people have had enough of it; if I have had enough of it. Maybe we get it now. Maybe now we’ve finally learned how to live in the moment, to receive this day as the one that the Lord has made, to pause and cherish and celebrate.
And then the next day comes and I realize how every morning I wake up and I need to be reminded to remember. I think that’s why He says that His mercies are new every morning and why He told us to pray only for our daily bread, and not for bread to last a lifetime. I can’t get perspective in a dose big enough to last more than a day, most times.
And that is why I keep coming back to Tuesday. Join me?

I don’t have anything new to link up today, but I’m still here reading. Love your Tuesdays, Emily.

Missed you last week, good to see you this week. I can unwrap only one day at a time also…but unfortunately, I cannot predict the day it happens
Praise God for fresh perspective!
I love your Tuesday’s unwrapped and yes I believe we do need to be reminded, thanks for the special reminders.
I am such a dork. I went to bed at 12:05 this morning thinking “oh, i’ll just post and link up in the morning” totally forgetting I had scheduled my post. So, i’m all linked up now. Thank you for hosting and thank you for such an important reminder.
I love that He tells us in His word that His mercies are new every morning. He knew we needed to be reminded. Thank you for unwrapping that for us.
Hi Emily,
It’s SO good to be back here after my 6-week Lent hiatus — I really did miss Tuesdays Unwrapped! Thank you for hosting it — I missed you! (I admit, though, I cheated a bit and peeked over here from time to time).
LOVE this! “He told us to pray only for our daily bread, and not for bread to last a lifetime.”
Thanks Emily. I keep coming back to Tuesday, too. I’ve come to rely on that “reminder to remember.”
absolutely, girl. and amen and amen!
Emily, thank you so much for offering this each week. For the first time I’m working my way through all of the links and enjoying each one. The message is too important, too good, to stop. We need the reminder. I need the reminder! Thank you!
Thanks for continuing to do this…I look forward to the weekly reminders.
Just checking in over breakfast… I hope things are settling back into a good routine for you!
That Jesus. He’s smart, isn’t He? He knew what He was doing when He taught us to pray.
I’m not linking today, but you can bet I’m here being reminded. . . and I’ll be here next Tuesday, too. Please keep unwrapping.
Please continue my Tuesdays. I need to be reminded of the little miracles in life; I so often get bogged down in the hugeness of it all. Your Tuesdays are like a deep breath for me.
Sometimes I need to be “reminded to remember” a number of times a day! Thanks for hosting this lovely meme.
So glad that you keep coming back to Tuesday. I love to read what you and everyone that links up is unwrapping. All of the posts are such great reminders of the gifts that are right in front of me waiting for me to unwrap.
Thank you so much for the gift of Tuesdays Unwrapped. It’s such a blessing to read of God’s goodness over and over again in the ordinary and extraordinary.
emily. thanks for encouraging me find the gift today.
Reminder to remember…I love that. And I’m thankful I was introduced to you and this practice and your beautiful way with words. Thanks for having me back again.
Well, here goes my Tuesday again. I will sit here reading everyone’s post, giggling, sniffing, growling, whatever is appropriate, until my butt goes to sleep. Not doing anything else but drinking coffee.
I love my Tuesdays!
you thoughts always take me on a journey… thank you. oh i am missing the forsythia!
Daily. That’s how often I need mercy, perspective, and provision. You’re in good company my friend.
manna. it was enough for that day. no more. no less. He is that…enough. thank you, emily, for creating a place for this. you are appreciated and i wanted you to know.
i don’t always link up but i love the reminder.
I’m sorry I’m a day late, but so grateful for Unwrapping Tuesdays I couldn’t bear to miss it. Thank you for continuing it. His mercies. New. Every morning. Indeed.
