singing on a tuesday

It was a rare moment of him being cute combined with me saying yes. He isn’t always allowed to stretch out on top of the dining room table and sing. But he also won’t always be three. And so instead of moving him along, I sat down and watched. And of course, snapped a picture.

Have you sat down and watched lately? Are there moments passing you by that might be better enjoyed from a sit-down position rather than a rush-around huff? If so, take a moment to share them with us by linking to the permalink of your unwrapped post. I feel like I say this all the time, but I have found some of my favorite blogs by browsing the links on Tuesdays. I encourage you to at least visit the links above and below yours to see what I’m talking about.

Your past few posts have been right where my heart is. I had my post written and was trying to find some pictures for it when you posted this. Our minds and hearts are in a similar place again tonight. Thank you for sharing. Love that picture. It would only be better if you could have posted a video and we could hear his sweet 3 year old voice.

  4. Good morning, Emily! I had a few minutes after baby woke up to write a post, so I thought I’d link up with you today, and then I came over and found that you’d written practically the same thing I was thinking!

You know, when I was swinging with other kids when I was little and we’d get in sync with each other, we used to tell each other to “get out of my bathtub” and swing on your own rhythm. Now, it’s all about getting *in* the same bathtub, because it’s SO COOL to know somebody else is there too. Thanks for the smile and the share today! I hope you’re well!

No, he won’t always be three. . . but right now he’s three in all its splendor. And there’s not much cuter than a three-year-old boy. Singing. On the table.

We’re never sorry for the time we spend in those moments, are we? Thank you for prompting us to savor them.

  13. I think summer may be the ‘season of watching’, don’t you think? We all slow down just enough to take in the little moments that are gone before we know it! My youngest is now 12 and I don’t know when that happened. Take lots of pictures and write it all down.

i love when moms {parents} are patient and understand what is important… maybe not so much being on the table, but being allowed to be 3, even if it is on the table! thanks for hosting such a wonderful linky party… i look forward to tuesdays!

    Yay, for saying “yes”!

I can’t quite smiling because I just know it must have been so much fun, almost wish you’d have video taped it for us!!

I still recalled these times with my Mom, they are definately filed under “good times” in my memory bank.

Here’s to the joy a three year old brings and, to a Mom that was wise enough to embrace it.

It’s not tues, but I love that I found this today! I’ve been taking part in a 40 day challege called iChoose2 Love my Life. Each day there is an iChoose2 statement with a challenge. Today my iChoose2 statement was iChoose2 be in this moment. So many times I let the business of life take over and forget that each moment is a gift from God, thus the reason it is called “the present” so I decided to make a cup of coffee and spend some uninterrupted time talking with my sister in another state. It’s really good to listen to her and enjoy her company. Check out the ichoose2 challenge at http://tinyurl.com/29jgdqj
