I want to be a daisy
unassuming, humble,
Willing to share my joyful face
wherever I am found.
In a prairie of grass
Unseen,
And alone,
I will tilt my face
toward the Son.
Bordered by peonies showy dresses
or the scandalous red of poppies
I’ll not be intimidated.
I won’t droop in the rain.
I will stand tall
And outlast them all.
I will pretend nothing.
I will smile
And be content to be me:
A bloom,
A delight to my Maker.
I want to be a daisy.
Washed pure white
With a heart of gold.

” I will smile and be content to be me…”
Difficult to do most of the time. I haven’t been “bloom-worthy,” but grateful that He watches over the wilting grass.
Thanks for a wonderful post Kristina. God bless.

Oh, Kristina! This is beautiful. I just love the parellels you’ve found and the word plays. And I fully want to be a daisy, too. Really enjoyed reading this.

I’ve always wanted to be able to do that. Take something as simple as a daisy and wrap profound thoughts around it. Beautiful.
Wonderful imagery. I especially resonate with not being daunted or envious about the beauty in others. I’m still working on feeling beautiful again after my last baby (20 months ago
. I think I’ll put the pic you chose up on my mirror to remind me of these strengthening words of quiet beauty….
