I shared on my Facebook page that I cried during The Dog Whisperer last night. I know. What is happening to me? I guess that dog is working his way in. All that to say, I now have a Facebook page for Chatting at the Sky. I’ve had it for a few weeks, but haven’t really told you about it.
I’m trying to keep my personal profile personal as there is a lot of identifying information on there and I’d like to keep my kids names private from the blog. So, I thought it was time to separate the two. If you’d like to keep in touch on Facebook, you can like Chatting at the Sky here. And the dessert has nothing to do with anything, but doesn’t it look good? It’s from a date night a few months ago. That was a good night.
I’ve been weepy today as the girls are off to school and we saw their kindergarten teachers from last year in the hallway and they were nervous/excited/happy and a mama just gets weepy on the first day of school just because. And the dog just broke a lamp. How does a dog break a lamp? By being an animal in the house, that is how. I’m gonna go find me some dessert.

Ahaha! You make me laugh. Silly dogs! I think 1/2 the moms I know are cheering and the other 1/2 are weeping. this year my house is too quiet and it makes me feel sad. What will I do when my kids are even older? Yikes! Love the desert picture, that should help anyone. As for me I am going to make caramel apples!

That dessert looks delish! And, I’m sorry you’re feeling weepy today with your kids going back to school. I was just talking with my husband last night about what it will be like when my oldest has his first day (still a while off from now). He’s already asking to go, the idea thrills him, but I can’t even deal with the idea of putting him in a mom’s day out. I’m going to be a mess.
I also wanted to say I respect you so much for keeping your children’s info private on the blog/facebook. I’ve gone back and forth on this, as my kids are so much of what I write and think about, but also wanting to do what is best for them. It’s something to think about.

Despite the weepy moments you mention here, and the breaking of a lamp by an animal in the house, you made me laugh. So been there. Dessert makes everything better.

I love your style, girl.
My puppy (I’m also a new dog owner after no dog experience) swallowed some of my kids’ marbles today. And she smells no matter how much I wash her. But she is my snuggie. And the only mammal in my family of 6 that loves me all the time and doesn’t whine. So I don’t mind getting new marbles… or making my kids wear clear-duck-taped sandals for the summer after said sandals became accidental chew-toys….

YIPPEEEEEEE!!!!! Thank you so much, Emily and Marybeth! I could have used that book today…looooooong day at the oncologist’s office with mom. It’s always good to have a good book to read to pass the time! I cannot WAIT to get it!

first of all…hello. and i’m sad we didn’t get teary together today like last year. but they’ll be plenty of that with the boys, so i’m not too worried.
second of all…where in the world is that dessert from? it looks so delic, and you better not say somewhere like hilton head.
uhh…Hilton Head. I’m not kidding.
You are too cute!!! LOL…Your puppy is such a cutie pie. And I love the stories you are sharing with us about him. They make me giggle! Which I needed tonight. Are you signing him up for Obedience Classes? It might save you a few lamps.
I am already a follower on Facebook and love it! Its so great to get to know you with the updates you share.

Hey girl.
Oh, you sweet thing with your little beast in the house. You would not believe how much Old English Scratch Cover we went through when our younger dog was a puppy. She was the cutest thing in the world, but boy did she like to chew on things. Like table legs.
I knew that you’d been converted into loving Finn when you called him “Buddy” in your post. It’s that puppy magic! Of course, puppy magic doesn’t fix broken lamps. Oh, well, you can’t have everything.
I love your new profile photo. And I miss your old photo. But you’re smiling in both, so they’re both good. Hope you’re smiling within as well. Take care.

And this post just made me laught (sorry) because of the dog and the lamp and the weeping at school. The first day of school I started crying because someone ELSE’s kid was howling and the mom was crying, and I cried out of empathy, and then it morphed into me crying over my own kindergartener, and my husband looked over at me, video cam in hand, and said, “Are you crying over someone else’s kid?” and I was like “Yeah, sort of, but sort of over ours, too.” I was a total headcase.
