May your weekend be filled with perspective as fresh as the late September air. May you find a good book, a thoughtful conversation and may your dishwasher clean your dishes the first time around. And if you don’t have a dishwasher? May you give a hearty eye-roll to those of us who complain about ours. Enjoy your weekend, friends.
for your weekend

hahaha! That’s exactly what I was thinking, as my husband and I don’t have a dishwasher
have a blessed weekend!

The comment about the dishwasher made me laugh. Ours broke a few months back, and I decided it was good for me to suck it up and hand-wash dishes for my family of five until we could replace it. I kept hearing a conversation I would have as a kid, standing at the sink complaining when I had to wash dishes for my family of NINE!
Me: “WE NEED A DISHWASHER!!!”
Mom/Dad: “We do have a dishwasher…it’s YOU.”
heh, very funny.
Anyway, I vowed not to complain–and now I have my new dishwasher, which cleans beautifully and quietly…the first time. Amen.

I love your weekend posts! Thank you so much!
Oooh, Emily, are you reading Kate Morton’s “The Distant Hours”? You got me reading “The House at Riverton,” which I loved (thanks for the recommendation!), which then got me reading her other books too. What do you think about “The Distant Hours”?
I bought The Distant Hours at Goodwill last week. I can’t wait to dive in!

We bought a Bosch on deep discount and it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen! Can’t tell it’s running unless you open the door to check! Only had 1-2 still dirty dishes in the year and a half we’ve owned it. (I’m sure it was something legit as I don’t rinse and leave them in there till its full. A.maz.ing. Getting some knitting done n snuggling with hubby. Perfect.

the dishwasher part made me smile… for 15 yrs. of marriage i didn’t have one, and complained!
now.. we have one. and yes, i COMPLAIN!! cause it doesn’t clean them well. :/
that old saying, “the grass is always greener,” comes to mind.” except of course, when you use paper plates!!! : )
cause being able to THROW your dishes away, well it just doesn’t get any greener…
unless, they come up with the equivalent of paper plates in clothes~
can you imagine how that would cut our laundry time!!! ; )
happy sunday, emily!
