my stitch fix reviews

I’ve really been enjoying Stitch Fix, the personal styling service that shops for you and sends 5 items of clothing or accessories to your door, either monthly or on the date you choose.

If you keep nothing, you send it all back in their prepaid envelope (my mailman received it as outgoing mail from my home mailbox) and they charge you a $20 styling fee. But if you keep at least one item, that fee goes toward the cost of your item.

I’ve decided to start to combine all my boxes on this page just to keep it all in one place. Here is what came in my most recent box.

my most recent stitch fix box

stitch fixCharlotte Tarantola1. Charlotte Tarantola Jace Stripe Lace Back Cotton Sweater ($28): It’s a little shorter than I would normally prefer and I have to wear something underneath it (hello lace back). But I really love this sweater. It goes with anything and is a happy color. Status: Kept.
41Hawthorn Enamel Ovals & Chain Necklace

2. 41 Hawthorn Enamel Ovals & Chain Necklace ($32): I like it, I do. I like that it’s gold, I like the blue. But I didn’t like it 32 dollars worth. The design is a bit chunky for my face. Status: Sent Back.

Daniel Rainn Braxtin Triangle Print Stud Button Blouse3. Daniel Rainn Braxtin Triangle Print Stud Button Blouse ($68): This fix was very blue. I liked the buttons on this blouse, “stud buttons” if you will. But I’m not a big fan of the rest of it. The see-through button up sleeveless get-up isn’t my best look. Status: Sent Back.

THML Stellah Lace Stripe Short-Sleeve Top4. Stellah Lace Stripe Short-Sleeve Top ($58): Speaking of stud buttons, there’s John! (He’s still hoping Stitch Fix will come out with a Stud Fix soon. I digress). I do love this simple blouse. It has a bit of a sleeve, for one. And for two, it’s black and white, two of my favorite colors. I wear this on its own when it’s warm and under cardigans when it’s not so warm. Status: Kept.

Willow and Clay Seurat Dot Crew-Neck Sweater5. Willow and Clay Seurat Dot Crew-Neck Sweater ($88): I know. $88. If I didn’t have credit with Stitch Fix, I wouldn’t have paid the $88 for it. But I do have credit and it’s gray and black (again, my color scheme) and it has dots. My sister got the sister of this sweater in one of her fixes: white with black dots. Super cute. This sweater goes with every single pair of paints in my drawers and so I love it, Amen. Status: Kept.

All my stitch fix reviews in one place - Chatting at the SkyThree out of five keeps equals a pretty good box if you ask me. Visit Stitch Fix to fill out your own style profile. You aren’t required to buy anything that comes to your door, but you will have to pay the $20 styling fee even if you don’t buy anything. If you buy one piece, that fee goes toward the price of your item. I always say it’s a great gift to give yourself for your birthday.

And if you refer your friends and they end up getting a fix of their own, you’ll earn credit to use toward your next fix. That’s the only way I can keep doing it. So thanks! Keep on scrolling if you’d like to see more examples of my Stitch Fix boxes.

My Last Stitch Fix
stitch fixMiss Me Imara Rhinestone Detail Bootcut Jean

1. Eight Sixty Olenka 3/4 Sleeve Blouse: It isn’t changing my life, but I have so much black and gray (and green) that this blue was a nice color to add to the closet. Status: Kept.

2. Miss Me Imara Rhinestone Detail Bootcut Jean: I requested boot cut jeans in my fix several times and they didn’t have any in stock. But when I pulled these out, I had great hope. Not gonna lie, the rhinestones threw me off. And I tend to avoid jeans with fold over pockets like this for . . . obvious reasons. But I absolutely love these jeans, pockets and rhinestones and all. I wear them all the time. Status: Kept.

41Hawthorn Tortoise Links Long Chain Necklace

3. 41 Hawthorn Tortoise Links Long Chain Necklace: I wasn’t sure how I felt about this necklace. So I took a photo of it and sent it to my sister.

41 hawthorn toroise links long chain necklace

She wrote back “KEEP IT” in all caps. I immediately loved it after that. Status: Kept. (She does Stitch Fix too and ended up getting this same necklace in her next box. Which seemed a little suspect if you ask me. But I choose not to question it.)

Daniel Rainn4. Daniel Rainn Kieraly Heart Print Short Sleeve Blouse: I liked this blouse as soon as I pulled it out of the box. It’s different from anything else I have and I can wear it in warm or cool weather. See the proof of that in this ridiculous photo series:

Daniel Rainn Kieraly Heart Print Short Sleeve BlouseI must have had a writing deadline to meet when I took these photos. It’s the only explanation for this massive waste of time and energy. Status: Kept. Obviously.

Under Skies Greena Tab-Sleeve Belted Tunic

5. Under Skies Geena Tab-Sleeve Belted Tunic: I’m just going to go ahead and make the general statement that if a piece of clothing has the word ‘tunic’ in it, it is probably a bad idea for me. I’m willing to be proven wrong on this, but for now I stand by it. It was too big is what I’m saying. HOWEVER, since I was keeping everything else in the box, it was cheaper for me to keep this, too, because if you keep all 5 items, you get 25% off your entire order. Status: Kept and given to my mother.

all

Overall, this was a great box.

If you try it out and refer your friends, you get $25 credit every time one of your referrers gets a fix. That’s the only way I can keep doing it. They will ask you to fill out your own style profile with sizes and preferences and all of that. You may be put on a waiting list but it shouldn’t be long. And remember, you pay nothing until you schedule your first fix. Let me know how you like it!

41Hawthorn Faceted Butterfly Gems Necklace1. 41 Hawthorn Faceted Butterfly Gems Necklace: As has been previously established, I’m a little hesitant when it comes to choosing my own accessories, so it’s fun for me to get necklaces from Stitch Fix. I liked the shape of this one – it’s fun and a nice color. Status: Kept.Lola Colored Skinny Jean2. Kensie Jeans Lola Colored Skinny Jean: Loved these as soon as I put them on. Super comfortable and nice fun color. Just to be curious, I googled these jeans to see who else sells them. Turns out lots of places do – prices range from $45 – $90. These were $68 just to give you an idea.  Status: Kept.

Bilson Pleat Detail Square Print Blouse by Daniel Rainn3. Daniel Rainn Bilson Pleat Detail Square Print Blouse: The dog. He is such an attention hog. This is the best photo I could get, trust me. This blouse feels like a staple kind of a blouse – fun and interesting but also basic. You can’t tell from here, but has a bit of a legit tail on the back. Not my favorite, but I can live with it. Status: Kept.Sweet Rain Kaden Bow Print Sleeveless Top4. Sweet Rain Kaden Bow Print Sleeveless Top: This shirt just didn’t speak to me. Bows – meh. Sleeveless – meh meh. Navy – womp. Bottom line it wasn’t changing my life. Status: Sent Back.Gregor Dot Print A-Line Dress5. Aryeh Gregor Dot Print A-Line Dress: I really need some time to talk about this dress. First, the material. I mean you could dress a bay window with the amount of “fabric” on this dress. And yes, the quotes are necessary because cheap-o feeling fabric. It was thin and wrinkly – kind of like a Barbie dress. Not to mention the fact that it was just too big for me. Wrong on so many levels. Status: Sent Back.

And here is each individual piece:

Zandra Chevron Print Dress by Sugarlips1. Sugarlips Zandra Chevron Print Dress - So it’s too short. It is. But I reasoned my way into this one because I just had to. I figured I could do boots with tights in the fall and that will make up for the shortness. Right? Status: kept.

Fornash Horse Bit Bangle

2. Fornash Horse Bit Bangle - I mean. You know how I feel about bracelets. I love the idea of them, but they always end up in my purse, on my desk beside my laptop, or in my car cup holder. This one is cute, but no. Status: Sent Back.

Chris & Carol Josse Foldover Waist Maxi Skirt

3. Chris & Carol Josse Foldover Waist Maxi Skirt - I requested a Maxi skirt and they sent me one, so that was fun. I love the color – more pink than red. It’s kind of see through, not gonna lie. But there are ways around that. The length is fun and the material super soft. Status: Kept.

Jannet Striped Jersey Skirt

4. Mystree Jannet Striped Jersey Skirt - This skirt is so easy and comfortable. I love skirts and wear them all the time. This one is not see-through (a plus!) and I feel comfortable in it. Status: Kept.

Just Black Carter Skinny Ankle-Length Jeans

5. Just Black Carter Skinny Ankle-Length Jeans -  I asked for jeans but you guys. There is a reason why there is no photo of me in these jeans. It’s because I didn’t have time to lose 25 pounds in order to fit in them. Status: Sent Back. Sent Back FAST.

People keep asking me if it’s worth it. It’s hard to answer that question for someone else. Here is where I give the pros and cons about it. The clothes are more expensive than what I would typically pay. But I did the first box as a gift to myself for my birthday and every box since then I’ve been able to use my referrer credit to buy the clothes.

If you have a blog, this makes it worth it because your readers can sign up and you get credit. But even if you don’t have a blog, you can share on Facebook or Twitter and get credit that way. I think it’s worth it to try it once. After that, you’ll have to decide for yourself.

If you do Stitch Fix, they will ask you to fill out your own style profile with sizes and preferences and all of that. You may be put on a waiting list but it shouldn’t be long. And remember, you pay nothing until you schedule your first fix. Let me know how you like it!

Ark n Co Sterling Belted Striped Minidress

Brooke Dot Print Sleeveless Tie Top

1. Ellison Brooke Dot Print Sleeveless Tie Top – I would not, I repeat, would not in one million years have picked this top out at a store. The tie, the material, the pattern would have turned me off. But once I tried it on? I really liked it. Shocked, I tell you. Even though it is a bold pattern, it is also strangely neutral. Status: Keep.

Pink Martini Mia Bird Print Front Pocket Tank2. Pink Martini Mia Bird Print Front Pocket Tank - Green again and you know how I feel about greens. This is a simple top and perfect for summer. It’s a little brighter than these photos show and I like it that way. It is simple but still pattern-y. Status: Keep.

Ark n Co Sterling Belted Striped Minidress

3. Ark n Co Sterling Belted Striped Minidress - I love this dress. It doesn’t photograph well, but it fits to perfection. It is a heavy-ish material that makes it feel sturdy and well-made. It also two of my favorite colors: black and white. The necklace I’m wearing here is also from this box (see below). Status: Keep.

Baublebar Four Tiered Beaded Necklace

4. Baublebar Four Tiered Beaded Necklace - I am not the best at picking out accessories, so just knowing someone else picked it out gives me confidence. Since I have a lot of black and gray in my closet, I thought this would be a fun way to add color. Status: Keep.

Laila Jayde Ari Shortsleeve Mix Striped Dress

5. Laila Jayde Ari Shortsleeve Mix Striped Dress - This dress fit me well, but I wasn’t wild about. The top of it looks like someone took sissors and just randomly cut it off so that was weird to me. But if you buy all five items in your box, Stitch Fix gives you 25% off your entire order. Since I knew I wanted to keep the other 4 items, this dress ended up only costing me a few dollars. For that, I can throw a chambray over it and call it a day. Status: Keep.

This was my favorite box by a mile.
